Washed out colors on XL2 but good on GL2
We have both camcorders, I reset the XL2, and shot a bright scene with both. The colors are more vivid on the GL2. My XL2 looks so washed out. I do not remember this with my older XL1s but that was 10 years ago. I went to a XH-A1 and it was fine, then quit for 4 years and now getting back to video. Maybe I forgot alot, any basic help would be appreciated, Frank

Re: Washed out colors on XL2 but good on GL2
Did the reset wipe out any presets that might have been ineffect?
Some of the Canon camcorders have a reputation for a very "neutral" (i.e., not vivid) factory defaul, such as you might get after a reset. |
Re: Washed out colors on XL2 but good on GL2
The GL2 colors are more saturated. I bought a GL2 (used) recently, and took the XL2 and the GL2 to a football game. I noticed the same thing. However, I prefer the XL2 colors the way they are because I tend to increase the frame to 1280x720 (HD frame) and add my own saturation level to match those of an actual HD camera like the XH-A1. It comes out looking great.
