Someone Please put my uneasyness to rest

I just received my canon xl2 yesterday and I notice that when i turn it on from an off position to on the tapes winds up and then the lens makes a click sound. Is that normal? As well if you look in the front when you turn it on the lens inside vibrates a bit and then stabilizes. The lens appears to work perfectly normal and all the features work on it. Is all that normal?

daniel

the click is normal. i havent looked at the vibration but i would guess it has to do with the stabilizer.

Completely normal, Daniel. Your camera is initializing the variable angle prism in the lens that gives you the magical ability to keep a stable handheld shot.

Aok

In addition to what others have written the canon lens also closes the iris on power down, and reopens it upon activation. Try and take the lens off and you'll see that it's always shut. The XL2 is a fantastic tool enjoy it.
