Reflextion in actors sun glasses?

Canon XL2 . I recently shot a film in blinding sun light and in a couple of the shots I can see the reflextion of the camera man in the actors sun glasses.I have been advised that if I had used a Polarizing filter on the camera, this could have been avoided.I will be shooting outdoors in full sun quite a bit and would like to know if anyone can recommend the best type of Polarizing filter to use on the XL2,prefarably a screw on kind. This is a problem I want to avoid again at all costs. Any advice?

Hmm... a polarizer will greatly help to eliminate reflections in clear and tinted glass such as the windshield of a car... but sunglasses, I'm not sure. It depends on how dark they are I guess. You should avoid the "cheap" polarizers. Get the best you can afford. Go for a quality name brand such as Tiffen or Hoya. Canon has a 72mm filter set for XL series camcorders that includes a polarizer. Just about any decent still camera / photography retail shop, such as Wolf or Ritz Camera, should have 72mm filters in stock. Walk in with your XL2 and a pair of sunglasses, try it out and see if that does the trick. Please report back. Good luck,

And now I notice you're in Perth WA after I recommended a U.S. retailer. Sorry about that,
