NR Question (Noise Reduction)

I was reading on another BB that NR should be avoided. Is there any reason for it to be avoided?

Depends on the shot... for lockdown shots with movement within the frame, you can use LOW but you can only use HIGH in really static shots. Too much movement will create a ghosting effect. You can also curb noise by turning up the coring and down the sharpness...

Thanks Ash. I seem to be getting ghosting when I burn a DVD and play it on my Widescreen LCD. The tape looks fine.

Why would the NR cause this ghosting?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a weird DVD compression issue... you would see it on tape if not.
