Is if safe to use time lapse mode for extended periods of time?

Is it safe to use the time lapse mode on a XL2 for say a week. I would like to set my camera up for a time lapse shot of a halloween display set up. Is this bad for the heads?

Mmmmmm takers on this one.

I've set my XL2 up to record in 5 minute intervals for 1 second just to test. Normally, when in record mode, the XL2 shuts down when idle for few minutes when in "PAUSE Mode"... you know.. to spare the heads. I'm note sure if the camera will shut down then turn it's self back on at the five minute mark when in "STOP" mode?

The manual indicates that when the interval is set for 30 seconds or one minute the camera goes into "Pause" mode. When set to 5 or 10 minutes the camera goes into "Stop" mode. I would think "Stop" mode would be easier on the heads?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to risk damage to my camera.

Thanks...
