I think he means the Iris... it's always in the lens.

But yes, video cameras have no physical shutter. just the chips turning on and off...

Have fun, but don't attempt this at home kids!

Mike, you and I are definitely cut from the same cloth. Fortunately for me, all that curiousity turned into a pretty lucrative career as an equipment maintenance technician in a wafer fab. There's so much stuff in a wafer fab, I couldn't begin to tell you how much that knowledge transfers to video production techniques.

Makes sense. I was wondering how we could have shutter speeds that were longer than the frame rate.

That’s what I figured, bout the shutter. And Mattew I did mean the shutter not the iris. I know the iris is in the lens. Thanx.

No prob bud, sorry to mis-infer...

I too have a fondness for taking things apart and putting them back together (when possible) I opened up my 7" LCD screen last week and managed to fix it all by myself (with some solder and ducttape!)

When I was 7 I think I took apart the family's Stereo... didn't end well.

I like to take things apart and see what's inside as well... just usually not things that cost me $3500. :)

How much for the table cloth?
