What's the catch?

link to scam site has been removed

Most reputable camera places have the XL2 in the $3000.00 range, I've seen body only XL2's for $3500.00.

Is there a catch to the $999.00 ones?

There are probably many! Remember the old saying, " If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!"

I'm sure this fits that saying.

Are you familiar with "ResellerRatings.com"? They're a place people can go to share their experiences with resellers. Many of the worst fly-by-night internet and real-world resellers are revealed here.

Express Cameras is one of the very worst of the worst. The overall rating is 0.41 out of 10.00. Go here and read on. And run. Run away...

Hee hee,
I'm runnin'!

Thanks for the replies. I really appreciate it.

Where do you think would be a good place to purchase an XL2? I have an Inkley's in town or would I do better going online or into the city?

Thanks a ton,

Les

I am sure you will get excellent service through the sites that DVInfo.Net recommends, but if you're looking for the best price I believe BeachCamera.com is your best bet.

They have the camera for 3,349.00 with free shipping, Canon has a $300.00 mail in rebate. You would end up with the XL2 for $3,049.00. I ordered my XL2 through them, before Canon offered the rebate, and the camera shipped fast with no problems. Well, except for a slight backfocus problem but I don't believe that was their fault and Canon fixed it for me immediately.

After being ripped off for $1,000 on EBay, I found that this is the best deal. This is just my suggestion, and like I said before I'm sure that the vendors recommended by DVInfo.net are all excellent choices for outstanding service as well!

Hope this helped!
