Canon Quick Release Plate is Warped

Has anyone's TA-100 ever warp on them overtime? Mine has and I'v only had it for about 6 months.

Now my tripod did fall over once with the TA-100 on the tripod head, but I can't see how that could've done it, it hardly got scratched.

Perhaps it was the way I mounted the camera to it, but I doubt that because where it's warping/bending (the center!) and I had it configured so that the camera was perfectly balanced; you could walk away from it and it wouldn't tip in either direction. Because the XL2 is so nose heavy, I couldn't just mount the adaptor directly over the Bogen plate, so adapter was pegged at the center of the Bogen plate. Here's a rough diagram.

^^^^_O___________ <-TA 100
________O___ <-Bogen 3066 plate

0= mounting points
^^= I had to put these mark there so the text would align correctly.
____= the one plate

Does this make sense? Why would this plate warp with my configuration. It was totally balanced! Did it warp for other reasons. It's always something.

All thoeries welcomed.

Hi, had my TA100 about 18 months now and it is fine. It too is mounted on a Manfrotto (Bogen in US?) head but shows no signs of bowing/warping. By the way, is the bend towards the head i.e.downwards or away from it i.e. upwards? I am wondering if it is bent downwards in the middle, is there any way that you could have overtightened it when mounting onto the tripod head?

yeah the bend is downward,toward the ground, and it's coming from the center of plate.

maybe it got bent during transporting in my softbag. or tightening the screw too tight? really?
