Shooting long hours on XLH1A

I have a concert I am shooting tomorrow and I was just curious how safe it was to run my camera for 9 hours ?

Harold Schreiber October 10th, 2008 07:00 PM

Hi Randy,

I can't speak to your Cam, but I've run most all my last 5 Cams for up to 12 hrs at a clip for 2 & 3 days in a row, doing Horse Shows. No problems with my Sonys or Canons.

Just use good tape, and keep your Cam cool (protect it from direct sun), dry, and dust free.

Harold

Thanks. That def helps put my mind at ease.

I did 6 Hours with my XL-H1A recently. Did not seem to have any problems.

WOW! I just shot 10 straight hours on Saturday. Camera was great didn't miss a beat. However ten straight hours without food or a break, little bit unreasonable, but still was a great learning experience. Lovin my camera

Which concert where you shooting?

Robert Sanders October 13th, 2008 04:59 PM

We put our camera through a 27 day (6 day week) shoot where we shot an average of 12-14 hour days. The camera head was turned on for most of that time (for the video tap feed). And the camera performed flawlessly.

We did have some issues with the heat in a basement we were shooting in for a couple days. It was August and temperatures were hovering in the 90 degree realm with very little circulation. We noticed a little softening of the picture during that time (just a little). Flange back adjustments didn't help. We assumed the mount might be expanding due to the extended heat exposure.
