Marty - I agree with you. If you already have the camera and don't need to use an adapter on a regular basis or are experimenting then there's nothing wrong with using that combo.
I have a tendency to think in terms of "theatrical motion picture" filmmaking only. And I sometimes forget that using these cameras for that purpose is actually a small percentage. But, yes, I do believe that for serious theatrical work it makes more sense to use an adapter that replaces the stock lens like a Mini35 or the XL/EX3 specific Letus adapters. |
I am considering buying a DoF adapter for my Canon XL-H1. But the Letus 35 mini is for small cameras like the Canon HV20 isn't it? Look here;
