Two films shot on XLH1 now on Video On Demand
Two films I produced and directed and which were shot on the XLH1 are now showing on Video On Demand in most areas.
In case you are interested they are: "Frozen Kiss" starring Cameron Goodman and Mimi Rogers and "Haunted Echoes" starring Sean Young and M.Emmet Walsh. And, by the way, most of the dialog was recorded directly into the Canon. It was entirely finished in Final Cut Studio. Hmmm .. what else? Can't think of anything except the above. Oh ... we used a Firestore and recorded HDV and used the standard Canon lens. Much of "Frozen Kiss" was shot at about 10,000 ft up a mountain at night, or it felt like that. The only problem we had was having to keep loads of batteries on "charge" because the cold killed them really quickly. We did rent a second camera as a backup, but didn't need it and it was used for a few 2nd unit type shots. Harry. |
Awesome Harry,
I always like to hear about it when features, or anything really, is shot on an XL H1. If they are available from my cable provider I will check them out. |
Thanks for the reply.

Harry,
You recorded this in MPEG-2 with the Firestore? |
I'm sorry to say that I have no idea what format the Firestore records in.

Harry,
I watched both trailers, both were intriguing and would inspire me to watch them!! Hope it gets distributed!! Look forward to seeing them in full!! anyway to see them on line yet? Dale |
They are not available online - at least not legally.
They are on Video On Demand cable right now and "Haunted Echoes" will be in video stores on March 9th. I gather from your response that you download movies from the internet. And I guess you are a film maker too, right? I hope that you are aware that when you receive movies which are illegally posted that you harm other people ... are you? I lose 20% of what is due to me by piracy. Maybe more. I know it's easy to do, but you are only putting money in the hands of these pigs who steal and then post copyright movies on sites which carry advertising, thereby putting money into the hands of the thieves and hurting both the big guys and the little guys - like me. Best Harry. |
Harry,
Actually, I never download any copyrighted movie. Just wondered if we could watch it on line. I do not have cable. If they come onto dvd I will have get them. I think anyone working in digital gets pirated more than they think!!! I wish there was an easy way to prevent crack. Dale |
ok. sorry to have yelled at you ...
