Daniel: I tried all of these things (except HD component Y), and I couldn't get Genlock to happen. But it was more of an academic exercise, anyhow. TC sync worked, but with the gotchas stated in the manual. If I find the time, I'll try again with a well rested brain :)

Nick: Yes, we had to re-sync after every power-down or standby. Shame! I think Canon should really fix this. I can't imagine any huge technical hurdles being in place. XL-2H, anyone? ;)

While we're at it: I've heard rumors that it should be possible to sync TC with a wireless audio transmitter/receiver setup (such as Sennheiser G2). Is this indeed so, and what signal/gain settings would work best? I'm not interested in testing this blindly for fear of destroying my G2s. Does anyone have more info on this?
