What is that "C" in the right side of the LCD?

I've gone through the manual and I can't find it. It's the letter C, it appears outlined, in a little box, on the right side of the EVF display, vertically centered. It appears mysteriously and then disappears hours or days later, for no apparent reason, with no obvious change in camera settings from me. I've tried to make it appear, I've tried to make is disappear, to no effect. It comes and goes as it wants. We ended up calling it the "Crap Indicator."

It's not "condensation." That has its own icon.

Is this just obvious and I'm not seeing it?

Hi Gabriel,

That "C" icon indicates that you have an accessory attached to the Advanced Accessory Shoe, such as the VL-3 eye light or more commonly the MA-300 XLR adapter. Hope this helps,

Oh. Thanks. That's what is was.

Why I would need an icon for that I'm not sure. And "C" really makes sense for "you've got something attached to the shoe."

Good to know, though. At least it doesn't indicate that my footage was bad.
