XL H1 Time Lapse

Has anyone used their camera for time lapse work? Is there an intervolemeter type device that can control it for this application?

Pete Bauer July 5th, 2006 12:28 PM

With the XL H1, the interval feature has been moved from the camera itself to the optional Canon Console software (about $600). I'm not aware of any third party hardware device that will do interval control; maybe someone else knows of something?

Chris Hurd July 5th, 2006 12:30 PM

I suppose the lack of an intervalometer is a limitation of the HDV format. No HDV camcorder has this feature.

Your link does'nt work..

Charles - the timelapse footage seems far too 'bitty and juddery' to my eye. The clouds just do not move smoothly enough across the sky.

Charles,

Did you use Console to do this? Or some other way?

Looks pretty good to me, but that's on a 21" monitor...

Steven Dempsey July 10th, 2006 05:39 PM

I've posted this before, I just did it for fun....shot in real time and sped up in post:
