Genlock horizontal and subcarrier phase ajustment

Hello DVInfo land,

We all know the H1 come with a nice genlock terminal for making them intergrate into live multicamera productions a little easier, but for the life
of me can't find out anywhere whether the horizontal and subcarrier phases can be ajusted in the menu. (these are important to be able to ajust for matching signals/timing/colour etc when cutting between mulitple sources)

My friend has rung Canon in New Zealand and he was on hold for 20 mins and then got no answer from anyone.

Does anyone who owns one of these know before i jump in and buy one?

Regards, Kirk.

I found the answer to what I was looking for. It does have ajustments in the menu.

This adjustment is found in Menu > Signal Setup > Genlock Adjust > -1023 to +1023.

This is digital video thus there is no subcarrier. All that is necessary is that the two cameras capture their images at the same time and start their output scans such that the first sample of a frame from each camera arrive at the switcher at the same time. To facilitate this one can introduce positive or negative delay into the genlock path. Color (hue) matching can be done in hardware or software by rotating the color phasor which is similar in effect to shifting the phase of the subcarrier in the old days but it's now a purely mathematical process.
