Xl-H1 PAL questions ??

I am doing a shoot overseas and I will be shooting in PAL (which is new to me) what is the best shutter speed for sports (like horse racing ) !
And what shutter speed to use indoor with fluorescent lighting. I know 1/50 is right speed, but what about 1/60 -1/75 - or 1/90 would I get any flickers.

Thanks

Michael,
I can't tell if you will be using a Pal only XLH1 or a dual Pal/ NTSC XLH1. Basically you want the shutter speed to match the frequency of the power grid. 60 HZ US, 50 Hz Europe, Asia. If you shoot Pal in the US you want the shutter to be 1/60th to avoid flicker and if you are in Europe you want to set your NTSC camera to 50th or 100th to minimize flicker. I tend to set the shutter to the frequency I want before I end up in a room or hallway where the flicker becomes overwhelming. Odd shutter speeds will give you more flicker than a match or multiple of the base frequency.
Best Shutter Speed for sports is not much different in Pal or NTSC. IF you want to get sharper stills use a higher shutter. The higher you go the more the image will appear to strobe. Some people like the extra sharpness and some don't. Most sports on TV are shot at the standard frame rate except for special cameras and special shots

Thanks Daniel,
I do have the dual PAL/NTSC. So shooting PAL in 50 HZ use only 1/50 or 1/100 for fluorescent. and if I am shooting NTSC in 50 HZ use 1/100 only.
