case for XLH1

anyone recommend a case for the XLH1 with back bracket and accessories attached?

Kevin Martorana July 9th, 2007 06:40 PM

Peter,

We use the 16x9 case

http://www.16x9inc.com/products/16x9/169-cb1.html

It holds the H1 with the Anton Bauer bracket on the back...Plus the Crosiel Matte box and rods also. Nice bag.

Dear Peter,

I second that. The large 16x9inc bag is very nice.

This, however, is a soft bag, not the same as a Pelican case.

I like the large 19x9inc bag, I am just careful to protect the bag from damage. You just can not drive over it.

It works very well with all of the accessories attached.

I'm using Petrol's PCBP-2 Papoose Professional backpack.
A little bit expencive, but I love it.
And it fits my XLH1 perfect.

thanks guys

btw - the current cinebags model does not fit the XLH1

Dan Keaton July 10th, 2007 07:49 AM

Dear Peter,

The Large 16x9inc bag is the only one that I found that would fit the XL H1 with the back bracket and a Chrosziel Mattebox installed.

This bag is made by Petrol. It appears that it is avaiable exclusively as a 16x9inc bag and is not part of the regular Petrol line.

I am very pleased with all of my Petrol bags! They make quality gear.

I have the Kata MCC-2 soft side and it fits fine inside.

I use a Pelican 1650 hard case most of the time for protection, especially when trucking. But for times when I want the convenience of a soft run-and-gun case that is big enough to keep the camera completely assembled and ready to shoot, I use the Kata. You have to be conscious with a soft-side not to put too much stress on the evf if you're leaving it on the camera when the case leans against you when it's over your shoulder.

Here is a pic of the XL H1 in the case. It comes with 2 dividers, but I only use one to keep some accessories separated. You could use neither and have even more room for the camera with accessories mounted.
