? Price of XL1s PAL in Europe ?
 

Hi there guys,

I'm looking for the price of XL1s PAL in Europe. I don't speak german or any other west europe languages. Maybe you guys from Europe can help me with this?

I need to buy pal model of the camcorder and be it shipped here to USA. I'll be using camcorder in Kazakhstan.
USA suppliers give only 90 days warranty for PAL camcoders, which sucks :(. I need reg. 1 year warranty to fix the camera in Europe.

Help me please with this issue

Hi Kairat,

I've just bought the XL1S (PAL). You will not find better help from Chris (Christine) at ZGC. Her price for me was $ 3650, and she shipped it in from the UK in 5 days. The only catch is that you do not have an option on packages, there is only the standard kit, ie, colour viewfinder and 16x Auto lens. The important thing for me was to have an international warranty as I am planning on going back to South Africa, so I needed the warranty to cover me here in the US and also in SA. B&H only offered a 3 month warranty but Chris got me the full year.

Tell her I gave you the lead, I need her to give me a good price on a wireless system, Ha! Ha!

I've heard that they were offering body kits and any config with the old one.

Also UK prices are quite high compared to german ones... just my guess.

I could get camcorder in Russia, where it can be bought as low as 3400 USD with warranty for 1 year. But they offer standart kits as well. I want to customise my camera. I don't need color viewfinder and reg 16x auto lens as well as mic. I need manual focus and wide lenses and 5" color LCD kit.
If this would be possible I'll consider bying from ZGC instead from russian suppliers in Moscow.

I asked Chris about the lens options and she made a good point. Even if I was able to just buy the body and viewfinder it would have cost about $3200. So, actually you're getting the 16x auto lens for about $450, not bad! You can always make other arrangements to obtain whatever other lens you desire and then you'll have a great second lens standing by.

why the hell the ntsc body only kit is less expensive? though pal standart kit is less than ntsc... strange.
I will not have use for auto lens at all... 450$ spent for nothing...

arhhh...just gimme the body... (just whinig)

The price is included the 16x zoom in my dealer´s catalog.
If You want to buy the camcorder in a store You pay the tax, here as in Sweden 25%. as a registred firm You can deduct this tax.
People from the US don´t pay the 25% tax when bying in DK.

Hi Kjeld, does the tax cover whole EU?

Is it possible for me, as a Swedish citizen, to buy an XL1s (pal), from USA, without tax? Can I even buy it from any country outside Sweden? As Denmark?

If it's possible to buy an XL1s (pal) from USA. What is the best price, and where would I buy it? Does tax count in that price, or is it added to it.

Hi Erik,

If You have a registred firm You will have what we call SE- number.
Then You can buy here in Denmark without tax or atleast get the money back in Sweden.

If You buy from US by post You can be sure You must pay exstra money in custom duties. How much I don´t know but I think about 15-20%.

I bought mine in US ffrom J&R for 34something $.
It's quite cheap compared to NTSC model.

J&R listed on canon site as authorised dealer.

But I'm in US right now.
