Audio Capture for Upcoming Project

I will be having an upcoming project in which I will be taping Red Carpet interviews for a celebrity event. I plan on putting a lav on the interviewer and wireless handheld mic to the interviewee. Using the MA-100 plugged into Audio 2, left channel for lav, right channel for handheld, leave factory mic on Audio 1 as backup, Audio Settings: 12-Bit, St 1, 2.

From this I will then need to make dubs on site to Betacam SP to deliver to TV stations for promos of the event that evening.

My plan for this is to use my Sony DSR-11 as a play deck and a Betacam UVW-1400 Recorder, connecting via S-Video and RCA out to XLR L and XLR R input on the 1400.

Now I know with my edit program Final Cut Pro, I need to change the settings and capture the audio as 32 kHZ 2nd 2 Channels (to capture the lav & handheld).

Am I going to face any problems transferring the audio this way?

Another possible method would be to borrow a second XL1 and use that as a playback, connecting it to the 1400 and making sure that the audio monitor is set to the MA-100 inputs....

I would appreciate any help with this as I won't have time to make any corrections the day of the event due to the deadline of getting the video out to the press....

Practice with the gear before the shoot to be sure it all works as planned.

I do not know the DSR-11, will it allow you to adjust the mix of the 4 audio channels in its output?

No, the DSR-11 doesn't allow a mix adjustment (at least I don't think it does...)

Then you may facea n issue gettng the proper mix among the 4 channels of sound you are recording to the Betacam.

All I really want to capture is the second two channels, the wireless lav and handheld through Audio 2. I only used the factory mic in case I lost audio on the other two as a backup.

Now I know in the past in hotel rooms I would connect the XL1 into the TV RCA in's and by using the audio monitor be able to switch to the proper channels. Do you think using this method (Use XL1 as a deck into Betcam 1400) would work? Has anyone ever tried this?
