Clearscan

I hav'nt had need to use it yet but following the instructions I'm a little unclear if its working.
Press shutter up button/enter menu/select clearscan, and nothing happens it stays orange as if the function is imobilised, this also happens on afriends XL1s.

Clearscan is only available in a certain camera mode. Check the manual to see which mode it is. I don't have my manual with me and my camera isn't set up just now.

Either Tv or M.

The proceedure in the manual is

Turn the power dial to Tv or M.

Select CS (Clear Scan) by pressing Shutter up.

Open the camera menu and select Cam Set up.

Select Clear Scan then select the frequency to hide balck band in viewfinder.

On the last instruction selecting Clearscan does nothing.

I know in hindsight it sounds a silly mistake, but read chris's instructions compared to the Manual, a reviewer of the XL1s in Camcorder User (UK) pointed out the misleading instuction.
Maybe its just us English, We tend to follow everthing to the letter.

Thanks all
