That picture is definitely interlacing related. You can see that
easily with the two people in front. Because they were probably
fast moving their is a difference between both fields, that is
what you are seeing. A good de-interlacer might be able to fix
that. Personally I always shoot in frame mode to not have this
problem.

Interlacing is no problem when played back on a TV since they
show a picture interlaced to you. You only see it on monitor
because they are progressive instead of interlaced.

I don't think this is the same problem that Chris is having.

Keep in mind that PAL is lower field first. When exporting from
Premiere you can set which field is first. This *should* default
to the correct setting of lower field first, if not, change that.

Hi guys
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you again - very poor
web etiquette I know..

On the interference - yes, it is indeed heat haze!
I eventually saw it clearly when reviewing later footage of
a kite sitting in a tree.
Heat haze had never before crossed my mind as ordinarily
I am too busy with photographers and video enthusiasts to
get out with the camera myself on the sunniest of days.
As we feed the birds at 2pm GMT I'm unable to alter the timing
of filming but now we're getting into autumn I don't suppose
I'll have that particular problem again for a while..

I've mailed a number of colleagues with address of this forum
as the knowledge on hand is second to none.

Many thanks

Chris

Great you have found your problem Chris. Sometimes it can be
hard to pin-point and in such cases help from others can be
invaluable.

Thanks for sending you this site to others, always appreciated.

Good luck!
