35mm film lenses still have to multiply for focal length?

Or do the adapters compensate? I'm wondering if it's still the 7.? multiplication to the lens?

The 7.2 factor applies to the EOS adapter to give the approximate equivalent field of view relative to using the same lens on a 35 mm film camera.

If you are using a true 35 mm lens with the P+S Technik
adapter for the XL1 you will not have to multiply.

Thanks

I was thinking that the 35mm motion picture lens adapters didn't do that. But someone said I was wrong...and since I might be renting on in the near future I was a bit worried. Thanks for the help.

MrGranger:
There is only one device that will allow you to use 35mm cine lenses and keep their field of view with an XL1. That's the mini35 by P+S Technik. With all other adapters you will need to do the 7.2 conversion.

Hope this helps.

MrGranger, as Justin pointed out (and he can know because he
owns one of those amazing pieces of technology -- jaleous!)
there is only one adapter that does not have that problem. More
info on that thing can be found at:

Keep in mind though that this is expensive. As we like to say:
the XL1 becomes the accesory. But then again, this rig is for
rent available at some places...
