interchangeable lens on XL1s

Is this a good feature to have? I dont know if this is standard or not

You can only find this feature on professional camcorders and the prosumer XL-1. The ability to change the lense gives you the chance to modify your camera for your needs (if you have the money of course).

It's a good feature if you need it.

If you don't need interchangeable lenses, then it's overkill.

When you're ready to buy a DV camcorder, you need to evaluate your specific requirements and consider the camera features that are important to getting the type of video you want.

If you need a larger camera with interchangeable components, such as lenses, microphones, viewfinders, etc. then the XL1S (or a professional shoulder-mount camera) is right for you.

If you need a compact, portable all-in-one DV camcorder, then consider the Sony VX2000 or Canon GL1. Don't trying to make money with it? Then a Canon Optura or Sony TRV-30 consumer-level camera will work well for you.

Always begin this process by examining what you want the camera for... what do you want to do with it. Then find the right one which suits your purposes. Hope this helps,
