Macro work with a dioptre?
Morning folks,
Has anyone done any close work using the standard 16x XL1S lens and a dioptre adapter? I'm attempting 35mm telecine by filming the projector gate, so a subject of about 24mm x 16mm. How good are, for example, Hoya dioptre adapters for rectilinearity? Many thanks, Peter. |
Peter, I use the stock 16x, 1.6 extender and dioters to do macro of insects. It is fantastic. Connect the Lx-1s to a monitor for crist close focus. Also, lots of GOOD light. Bob

Thanks a lot, Bob. It's good to know that it's a viable solution before investing in more kit!

I got a set of three 1x, 2x, and 3x for about $60.00. They are 72mm filters. I have been useing them for several years and never had a problem. Made sure you take off the A1 (skylight) filter and do not stack more than 2,ie. a 2x and a 3x = 5x. Useing the 1.6 extender allows you to get a litter futher back from the subject. Also, you have minimun DF. Bob
