Cokin Filter Holders

Chris....

any experience with Cokin filters and holders for the XL1s? Looks like the "P" will fit with a 72mm step down ring. Thanx for any info you can provide.

Sorry Bill, no direct experience with these. Hope to have an article about Tiffen filters up within the month.

Cokin

Hi !

You're right. The P-System fits for the XL-1. I use it and I'm very pleased with it. You can use up to 3 filters in the filter holder and I think the filters have a good performance for the money.

Greetings, Sebastian

Certainly recommend it. I keep it attached to the camera all the time. Filters range from £10 - £50 depending on how creative you want to get. Certainly beats paying £70 for canon's own screw on filters.

Only down fault with it is you can not attach the hood you get with the XL1 to it, but you can by a rather primative cokin hood if needed.

Hope this helps

thanx for the feedback. I am looking at a cokin filter holder and a Cokin Sunsoft filter for the "film look".

I tried the the Cokin P filterholder with the 16x and 3x lense.
If you use the 3x lense you can't use it together with the Cokin P filter holder. The holder is visible on the left and the right side of the picture. I havn't tried it yet but i think it is enough to cut one of the 3 glas holders, then the holder is thin enough for the 3x lense and there are 2 glas holders left.
