RAW on Mac
 

How do I change the metadata/look of individual clips in FCP with the new Mac codec ?
Is there a button like in Prem Pro or something else that I can't find ?

After several days playing I still can't change the metadata on individual clips on the mac.
'Set Active Metadata' will let me 'Enable All' and 'Diable All' (shouldn't this be Disable) as on the previous release.

When I try to alter White Balance R,G,B, nothing happens to the image - the Kelvin and Tint sliders are grayed out.
Altering any of Color Matrix sliders also has no effect.
Changing the .look files has no effect, the look stays as it was shot.

Have uninstalled & reinstalled several times.
Watched the FresHDV video from NAB showing how it works - seems simple.

Are you using AVI or MOV CineForm RAW files? We recommend MOV files on the Mac.

Was testing mostly with AVI but have swapped over to mov with no difference.

Open the mov in QT player, hit play, try to change look in Set Active Metadata.
nothing happens (unless I use the 'diable' all button)

Have I missed a step?

No it seems you are doing it all correctly. Will check if something is broken in the currently release.

OOpss! Missing path in the installer.

Please create this directory:

/Applications Support/CineForm/LUTs/db

Now SetActiveMetadata should work.

I'm afraid this hasn't worked for me - but it is more than likely that I haven't done it right, what kind of file should db be ?

Sliders now effecting image and different .look files can be used.

Something Still Not Right
 

Sliders work but as soon as you click on one the image goes greenish
When a different look is selected the new look is applied with a strong green tinge.
This green can be taken out with the green slider and then any look is okay.
It seems to be the same amount of green on all looks. Some of these looks are ones I have made in Speed Grade others are the ones that ship with the SI-2K.
Clicking 'Camera Default' restores the as shot look and is fine (different looks on different clips) but any manipulation introduces green into the image.

This is happening with both AVI & QT files

It sounds like somehow the white-balance is getting reset whenever you are making an adjustment to a clip.

Also make sure that that saturation matrix is not being "double-applied" . . . in other words, when you make an adjustment, look at the saturation slider . . . make sure it is not set at something that is super-saturating the image. The saturation slide should be set at the neutral position.

I have seen in the past where touching the sliders will double-apply the matrix metadata in the file (the matrix is normally deactivated).

The Kelvin & Tint sliders are greyed out so no adjustment is possible on these.
All other sliders are in their default position and don't move/change unless I grab them. When I do use them they seem to do what they are meant to.

There doesn't seem a way of turning on (or off) the white balance only.

The SetActiveMetadata is being overhauled right now. Internally there are work Kelvin/Tint sliders and a lot more. This will hopefully be available in the next ten days.
