Cineform capable of interpolating 30p to 24p?

In my experience, cineform seems to handle HDV better than any other product.

As a Mark II owner, I'm wondering if they're coming up with a simple, viable way to turn 30p to 24p? (without slo-mo)

Thank you Jeff - it's nice to hear that.

30p to 24p is one of the most difficult algorithms (from a signal processing standpoint) to implement well. It is something that we could do, but it isn't something we have the resources to do anytime in the near future.

But we agree it would be a very useful feature to add....

But not just useful....but VERY attractive. More bang for your CF buck is what keeps you guys on top.

If you guys ever decide to do this it would not only sell a lot of cameras but stock in Cineform as well. I was really hoping Cineform would be the answer to this issue.

It is a great question.

So what is out there that does the 30p to 24p process well?

thanks,

Simon

Here is a method using Final Cut from Philip Bloom:
Philip Bloom How to convert Canon 5dmk2 footage from 30p to 24p

A method on the PC that is suppose to work well is:
1. Use Twixtor to convert 30p to 60p
2. Use pulldown to convert the 60p to 24p.

There also appears to be a method producing good results using Shake. There is some information on it here:
