First Light
Has anyone experienced First Light not working properly under Windows 7 64-bit and CS4?
The play button doesn't work and any adjustments made are not reflected on the video. |
You need to delete reg key.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CineForm\ColorProcessing\LUTPath Then re/install the LUTs pack, as it works for Win 7. Under 7 we use a path of "C:\Users\Public\CineForm\LUTs" rather than "Common Files" which is off limits in 7. |
Deleting the reg key was easy.
However, where do I find the LUTs pack to re-install? |
I made the changes to regedit and re-installed FirstLighLUTs-pack1.exe but that didn't correct the problem. I am able to scrub thru the video, but the play button and none of the sliders work.
|
There must be a newer compile for Firstlight.exe because the version that I am running doesn't notice the users\public\cineform\luts directory. It only sees the one found user commons. I have doubled checked and verified that regedit points to users\public\cineform\luts.
I also noticed that there's no default db database opened. The database name is empty. That may be why the play button and controls don't work. |
Update:
I ran Firstlight as administrator and now it funcitons properly. The program must of needed to do something initially with administrator rights. After that, it runs properly when not executed with administrator rights. |
Thanks for working that out. I don't know why it want to be run as Admin once.
|
I had the same problem as Richard on Win 7 and found his solution of running as administrator one time also solved my problem.
