Importing 5D files to Premiere Pro 4.2.1
 

Hi,

I have converted 5D MOV files to AVI files using a trail version of ProspectHD 4.13 but as soon as I import the AVI files to Premiere it crashes Premier, it gives me the following message;

"Premiere Pro has encountered an error"
"[..\..\Src\Timecode.ccp-995]"

My project is in Pal Mode
and I used the default setting in ProspectHD with Frame Rate Change of 29.97 to 25.0

Any idea what I am doing wrong please?

No idea as that works fine here. [..\..\Src\Timecode.ccp-995] is an Adobe error not a CineForm report, not to say we couldn't be causing it somehow, but it is hard for us to know what it means. Contact support (Adobe and CineForm), also upload a short file that does this so support can see if it is clip related for setup related.

Can you please tell me the correct settings for converting 5D MII files for Premiere Pro 4.2.1?

So settings should not cause that crash, I don't think is a settings issue. I just select a mode that match resolution and framerate.

You will need to talk to support to find out why. That is not a typical experience.

I have the same issue, but I have some more data that might be useful.

This all worked under Vista 64 Bit, but I recently upgrade to Windows 7 64 Bit. Same version of Premiere, same version of Cineform. Canon 5D mk ii.

When I use HDLink to convert the file, the file converted has no audio. The video also plays back 2-3 times faster than the original, when played in Windows Media Player.

When I look at the properties of the new AVI file with windows explorer, it shows 0:00 length, 1,576,800kbps, Fame Rate 33333333frames/sec.

So the AVI file is garbage, essentially. I tried dragging it into premiere, but it crashes premiere.

Something is not working with Cineform and Windows 7 64 bit.

Latest version does not help.
 

Tried 4.1.6, same problem.

Talk to support, these are not common issues. Win-7 64bit and Canon 5D/7D work fine -- I have that my setup for my our projects.

Installed Prospect HD on a fairly clean XP machine.

I tried converting a Canon 5d MK II MOV file to Cineform compression, but again it failed. It dropped the audio and there is no concept of FPS (It thinks it is 333333333FPS).

I even triend converting an older MOV which I had successfully converted on my old Vista machine. Still Failed.

I am wondering if these machines are missing a codec or something. Usually you get an error if it can't convert it, not what it thinks is a successful conversion, but a screwed up output.

I tried 4.1.2 and 4.1.6 on the XP machine. Same result.

What Am I missing here?

Install Quicktime.

Works now.

Why it would convert it but convert it badly is something I'll leave to someone else.
