Suggestions + some problems
 

These are some problems and issues that I have encountered for a while now with Cineform and wanted to see if they could be resolved in any way or if any were user error. Apologies if I'm missing anything, but I'm hoping someone can help me with some of these issues. First is just a suggestion that has been bugging me for a while. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but when you're working with this software every day for hours these little things really start to pop out. I've searched extensively for solutions on this and other websites and while I've found some inklings of answers, none have been from the horse's mouth so to speak.

-To import video items into Firstlight, one uses the Import command, while the Open command opens Firstlight profiles. However in ReMaster, it's reversed: to import video files, one uses the Open command, while the Import command opens XML files. A little confusing I think. Also, not being able to drag and drop files from the Finder into ReMaster or Firstlight is, well, a bit of a drag. Not having to navigate through folders would speed up my workflow a lot.

-I can't find anywhere on any site that tells me the correct settings for ReMaster for footage from different sources. 420 to 422? Are the Canon DSLRs a 601 source or no? Does the Limit YUV setting (Canon 5D) also apply to 7D and 1D mk4?

-ReMaster will only import a certain amount of files before the progress bar hangs and I have to force quit. Often I have to import files in little sections and hope it doesn't choke up and I have to start over. This has been true on my system through many reinstalls since day one.

-When using a Cineform timeline, the gamma is different on my Ppro monitor than in Firstlight. This issue was acknowledged and I was told the Firstlight screen is more accurate, but nobody has been able to tell me how to fix my preview monitor in Ppro so I can edit with an accurate image.

Right now, the only way for me to accurately gauge my image is to export my entire timeline in Cineform and open it in Firstlight to look at it, because Quicktime doesn't interpret the gamma flag properly, or some similar mess that I can't seem to figure out. Regardless, this can't be the right way.

-I have the full version of Neo and yet the Export to 4:4:4 option is greyed out. Why? Perhaps on a related note, After Effects reports an exporter module error every time I try to export 4K footage using the Cineform codec.

Anyway, I hope someone can shed some light on some of these issues, and thanks for any assistance.
