I take it that the MOV wrapped Cineform will be able to open and export from Quicktime Pro.

David Newman June 21st, 2006 10:07 AM

Yes. The MOV wrapped CineForm files also includes a quicktime encoder/decoder.

The quality and speed of the encoder speaks for itself, but to be honest, I've never dealt with a company so responsive to the needs of its clients before and I would imagine your customer support and communication will bowl over the Mac crowd. It's just a case of getting them to try it out - I would imagine word of its performance will spread like wildfire.

Is FCP set up in such a way that there could be Prospect and Aspect equivalents? I'd imagine you'd do brisk business.

Just what I wanted to hear, great stuff.

How soon?

Any projections on *when* will QuickTime Pro support Cineform Aspect HD as output codec?

David Newman June 21st, 2006 11:27 AM

We expect September, maybe a little sooner.

I'd love to be a beta tester if you do that sort of thing.

Laurence, I've made a note of your offer. We'll contact you later....

On a related note, I can't get Cineform AVI's to open in the Divx encoder either, though I can encode them into Divx from Vegas.

David Newman June 22nd, 2006 10:31 AM

Sounds like a bug report for Divx.
