whats the red "X" mean in the top left corner?
editing in PP2, new composition, selected aspect preset 1440x1080. editing some of my footage and in the right final preview pane there's a red "X" showing up on some of the clips. What am I screwing up, lol

Have you converted your footage to CineForm AVIs? It is also important that the frame rate and size of the clips matches the preset you have selected. One of these is the likely issue.

yeah captured in hdlink (cineform avi's). using a sony HC3 shot in 1080i. so selected Aspect HD 1440x1080 60i preset in pp2. seems to only show up when i take subclips from my main imported clips. now if i take the whole clip w/o breaking it down the red x doesnt show up. but I've now tested and if I take the same subclips in the pp2 hd preset it doesnt show up. very strange occurence. its only happening in the aspect presets.

Sounds like you will need to work with the support staff as that doesn't make sense to me.

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6455/pp2errorlu1.png yeah it only happens in the aspect presets and I'm now running the beta and it's still there. very strange |
It normally means you aren't matching you timeline frame rate/resolution with you clip. Please confirm.

As David mentioned, it will appear if the clip's framerate/resolution don't match the project. I also find it appears (for me at least) whenever I use a non-Aspect HD filter or effect. On my system, all the native Premiere effects need to render first. |
