Chris,

That should not have happened if the trial was still active. Did you install NEO Player at any point?

Yes, I did install Neo Player about half way through the trial.

That is way it is not encoding. Uninstall NEO HDV and the player, then reinstall NEO HDV, you will get your encoding back.

Okay. Thanks, David.

So since we are on subject. I installed Neo Player, thinking I would have a stand alone player for Cineform stuff. Since I saw no stand alone program, I assume what happens is we are getting a codec that works with the various players.

So is the player only for those that don't have Cineform on board ? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Yes, it probably should have been called CineForm Decoders rather than NEO Player, there is no need for custom player app as it works with most tools.

Doesn't work with VLC, which is my fave! Any idea why it doesn't?

It's a VLC problem, not CineForm. VLC relies on its own internal decoders.

Yes, VLC doesn't use DirectShow or VFW base codecs, which is unfortunate.

Media Player Classic does work however, and on systems where the CPU is stressed by CineForm playback, I seem to get marginally better performance using it.
