Dear Bill,

We intend to support 24p embedded in a 1080i signal stream.

We had not originally intended on taking a 1080i60 or 1080i59.94 and creating 24p or 23.98p.

I found the post on the other forum.

Here are my thoughts:

We record in XDCam fomat at 50, 100, 140 or 160 Mbps, all at 4:2:2.

We also record in EX1/EX3 at 35 mbps in 4:2:0 to provide a EX1/EX3 compatible mode, which also provides longer recording times.

Even if a camera's sensor is 1440 x 1080, the HD-SDI is always 1920 x 1080, and we always record 1920 x 1080 (Full Raster) for 1080 modes. The Pixel Aspect ratio is handled in the camera, which allows us to record full raster.

Just to note:

We never record in DVCPro 50 or DVCPro HD 100. You will find our 100 Mbps quality, in Long-GOP, to be much higher due to the higher-efficiences in Long-GOP over Intraframe codecs.
