nanoFlash Known issue in initial firmware

Dear Friends,

1. Using a HDMI Television, or a HDMI Monitor (but not a computer monitor with HDMI inputs), we have audio upon playback, as expected.

2. But, we have tested using a Dell Computer monitor with HDMI input and a Westinghouse computer monitor and we did not always had audio upon playback.

In all cases, the audio is recorded properly on the CompactFlash cards.

Also, in our testing, if the nanoFlash has a input signal, it seems that the audio, in #2, above is present. Without a signal, the audio in #2 is missing.

Please consider this preliminary.

We are doing further testing and we will be working on a fix. We do wonder why this happens to computer monitors with audio and HDMI inputs. This could be a setup issue on the monitor, but more than likely we are causing this problem.

We will report back when we know more information. Further testing may show different symptoms/results.

We do expect to fix this with a firmware release.

nanoFlash HDMI audio fixed in next update

We found the code issue in the HDMI audio output on the nanoFlash. The fix will be included in an upcoming firmware update, due out next week.

My guess is that the HDCP bits are not being set correctly

Hi Aaron-
We found a bit shift problem in the audio serial data-stream. It was an easy fix to implement.

Dear Friends,

We found and fixed another issue with our analog audio.

The wording in the menu item was backwards.

This fix will be in a firmware update we expect to release next week.

Please note that this only applies to the analog audio.

Most use audio embedded in the HD-SDI or HDMI input stream.
Embedded audio is working fine and is not affected by this issue.

Dear Friends,

I want to elaborate on my last post. I was not clear enough in my post.

When using analog audio, since we have the labels in the "Mix In" menu backwards, if you want to select Stereo Unbalanced (two unbalanced inputs), select "Mono Bal" (Mono Balanced).

If you want "Mono Balanced", select "Stereo Unbal" (Stereo Unbalanced).

This will be corrected in the next firmware release.
