Connector protection

Mike I really like the Nano but every time I look at it the first thing that comes to mind is
those naked connectors... why not put a nice set of protector covers on them like these

Dear Ray,

Nice suggestion! As far as I know, we had not thought of this before.

In order to be prepared for ideas and attachments that we had not thought of before, we have, on each of four panels, left side panel, top panel, right side panel, and back panel, we have two M3,.5 threaded inserts (screw holes). These are there so that we, or our customers, can easily add attachments.

One such use would be to add the BNC connector protectors that you suggested.

We did think of adding extra protection to the connectors. We have, as an extra cost option, a lightweight backplate that extends out to protect all of the connectors.

This same plate has a simple HDMI lockdown; it clamps onto the HDMI cables to ensure that they can not be accidently pulled out during use.

This is added protection is purely optional. It appears that the HDMI Type C (Mini) cables snap into place quite nicely.

No matter where I look on your Web site, I don't see the 'backplate' you mentioned.

Where can I see it and what other accessories have you hidden away???

Dear Daniel,

We have been in the process of updating our website.

Also, we just revised our nanoFlash backplate with HDMI holddown.

You will be able to see this on nanoflash.net by Tuesday, possibly Monday.

Dear Daniel,

Here is a quick and dirty picture of the HDMI Holddown plate.

This plate provides some protection for the BNC connectors as well as a method to securely hold one or two HDMI cables in place.

Please note that we did not screw the plate to the nanoFlash, it was just placed on top of the plate and the alignment was not perfect.

Thanks, Dan.

As I'm designing my camera rigs, this input is very useful.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here that appreciates that you guys work 24/7.

I have one of those plates & clamps and will be using it by the week's end when my SmallHD monitor, which has HDMI arrives.
