This example was designed as an extreme torture test.

In normal operation, one does not typically rotate the camera, tilts, yes; pans, yes; but rotating on the axis of the lens is relatively unusual.

Last year we were asked to perform this test to determine if our codec could hold up to such an extreme task.

And just today, Paul wondered if we would hold up in this test, and we do.

This was not meant to disparage the excellent Sony cameras.

Here's a picture of the rig. The extra cable up top is so we can hot swap batteries.

Hell of a rig. Just out of curiosity, how much does it weight and where is the beer dispenser?

The camera with viewfinder is 17 pounds + lens + nano + shoulder mount + 2 lithium Ion batteries (in a hip pack). Probably about 28 pounds...

You've got me beat. My rig, stripped down for minimal shooting weighs 24 pounds. That is without the shoulder mount and rails, without the LCD, just the bare bones needed to shoot with. I think my 24 pounds is way too heavy but then I think about a film camera and then I'm happy mine only weighs 24 pounds.

Looks like you've got this rig pretty stripped down to only weigh 28 pounds.
