Rebuilding Website, Looking for Photos

We are in the process of rebuilding our website (which is long overdue). We would like to include still images of the nano/XDR mounted on your camera, or in your helicopter, airplane, race car, balloon, motorcycle, underwater rig, elephant, or whatever. We are looking for high-quality close-in shots, showing the recorder and wide angle shots, showing the application/location (desert, rain-forest, jungle, etc). A few lines about the application and possibly a description of how the XDR/nano played a role (image quality, low-power, small size, rugged operation) would be helpful.

We will be glad to include your name and company, if desired.

Please e-mail to Mike at convergent-design.com. You can also post low-rez versions of the images on this forum.

We will also have a page on the web site devoted to video clips from the XDR/nano; we'll ask for this footage in a few weeks.

Any help is much appreciated-

Mike, are you also collecting screen shots from parallel recordings? It would be great to have access to the test comparison images use during the development of the Nanflash/XDR. I know I'm a broken record, but the absence of these images is gating my purchase.

Hi Gints-
OK, we'll try to post as many comparison shots as reasonable. Here's another one of sparks from a grinding wheel shot with an EX1.

WoW!!

Such a HUGE step up in quality from every aspect.

Grainy look totally gone.
Blocking, color artifacts gone.

Just a beautiful shot improvement with the 4:2:2 100mbps.

The Pictures Don't Lie !

HI Mike:
This is perhaps the clearest example of the common differences between 35 Mbps 4:2:0 and CD's Long GOP 100 Mbps 4:2:2 I have ever seen. These pictures don't lie !

Responded to your PM

Hi Mike:
Just so you know I responded to your PM to me and I'm awaiting your response.

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks, Mike. I've seen the two EX1 35/100 MBps examples you posted a couple of months ago, and they do make the case. Will you be making the source videos of these frame grabs available for download?

Hi Gints-
Good question, let me check if the original footage is still available.

Actually, the EX1 footage 35Mbs looks almost good. I would have expected worse.

Dear Friends,

Doug Jensen of Vortex Media has provided us with some great photos of his nanoFlash mounted on the Sony PDW-F800.

Please note that if these photos are used for any purpose, please credit Doug Jensen and www.VortexMedia.com.

My goodness, that's a fine looking camera. Does it have the air-shocks that make it bounce up and down on the tripod?

Hi Friends:
Nice Nano & Camera shot. Perhaps this is the best picture showing the relative size of the Nano versus a real broadcast camera. Cool.

Hi Gerardo,

Thank you for showing us your rig.

What matt box and rail system are you using if you done't mind me asking.

Best regards

Mike.

Paul Cronin December 14th, 2009 09:46 AM

Mike will send a few stills along soon.

Gerardo Campos December 14th, 2009 08:13 PM

Mike,
I bought a pack, the rod system is from Letus, but the mattebox is a PROAIM from India, not very good but do the job; soon I will post some pics from my new rig, but now I'm full with pending edition work to do... a lot

Nice!

Congratulation, Mike and Dan, for the nice update of the Convergent Design's website.
It's easier to find the right information we need and very usefull to see more pictures of your devices.
I'll be happy to send you some pictures of my Nano on the field if it could help.

Yes, we would welcome your photos.

Mike I sent along a studio shot from last week highlighting the Nano center frame. Also will look for a few helicopter shots. If can not find any I will take some on our next flight coming up.

Sent the picture again cropped. Looks like this will work better for your site.

Mike,

I just posted a bunch of photos of my Rig with NanaFlash in this post:

http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/converge...ml#post1460964

I emailed Dan a link as well. Feel free to use these photos any way you wish. Higher res ones are available as well. Shot with a 5DmkII, in my studio.
