Nano HDMI to Feed Monitor

Trying to use the Nano HDMI out to feed a SmallHD DP1 montior.

Can't seem to get the settings correct - monitor keeps saying No Source.

However when I use the Component connections direct from the XHG1 camera, I am ok.

So I am doing something wrong with the Nano settings.

What would be the correct settings?

I don’t know your monitor but heres a quote from the latest nanoFLASH manual;

Quote:

Play Progressive->PSF [ ]
Turn this option “on” to play 1080p progressive video off of a CF card as PSF video to the
video outputs. ( Note: some SDI monitors only accept 1080PSF video, not progressive.
In this case, turn this option “On”.)
Turn “off” to play 1080p progressive video as 1080p. ( Note: HDMI monitors do not support
1080psf23.98 . In this case turn this option “Off”. )
Also ensure that the Input signal on the monitor is set to HDMI, not compoonent or SDI.

Record/Play PSF-checked and E to E checked, - if you are shooting/recording progressive. It works like a charm. You may wanna see if the settings on your DP1 are for HDMI signal.

E to E Direct doesn’t work with HDMI, just SDI only. Here is a quote from the CD nanoFLASH Manual;

Quote:

E to E Direct (SDI Output loop-through only)
Sets the SDI loop-through output to the exact same format as the incoming video format (such
as psf). This is particularly useful for looping through a PSF input. However, in E to E mode,
only embedded video/audio/timecode are looped to the output (not analog audio, nor
LTC/internal timecode). ( Note: some SDI monitors only accept 1080PSF video, not
progressive. In this case, set E to E “On” to loop out PSF from a PSF input.)

You are correct Paul. I didn't unchecked E to E when I switched to HDMI and now when I looked at the settings it was checked of course. It seems its irrelevant to the HDMI if E to E is checked... Cheers

Now set the DP1 to display maximum picture area. Great monitor. Mine is also HDMI fed from NanoFlash.
