In Avid, it appears that they have a memory buffer to hold a "Group of Pictures". This buffer is larger enough to hold the entire GOP, but only if the bit-rate is 50 Mbps or slower.

Or it could be a major hurdle if they can not increase the size of the memory buffer for some technical reason.

In any case, we will be very happy when Avid addresses this issue.

...Hi Dan: You are quite correct. I don't know if there's anything you can do from the CD corporate end of things, but if there is I hope you folks at CD will keep pressing them about this. Avid is notoriously slow to adapt, and they only seem to move when pushed by enough people.
