spanned clips

How does the nano deal with spanned clips.. when just copying from card to ext HDD.. via laptop .. using shotput pro.

Just wonder as have not done this yet..? is it one file.. or two...? does Long GOP or Iframe make any difference..

Thanks

Dear Robin,

If you record longer takes, the nanoFlash will create multiple files that are approximately 3.72 GB's in size. And you can customize the size using our File Size menu parameter.

By doing this, we can use the FAT32 file system which is widely supported by both the MAC, PC and Linux platforms.

Also, this is a good idea in any case as it breaks up very large files into smaller ones in case there is a problem anywhere in your workflow. Losing a small portion of a very large file is painful, but must less painful that losing the entire recording.

Each recording with multiple files, when one plays it out of the nanoFlash or edits it, it will be seamless for both audio and video.

One can highlight a group of clips then drag and drop the group into most editors and they will line up on the timeline as desired.

Other systems, such as Shotput Pro will treat the files as individual files and everything should work fine.
