Dear Friends,

I am posting some photos of the Gemini 4:4:4.

These will be helping in showing just how small we made this very powerful, full uncompressed recorder.

The actual size is 5.4" x 4.5" x 1.1" or 138 mm x115 mm x 28 mm

The unit comes with a custom fitted hard case.

The interior foam is special sturdy, anti-static foam. This is a premium foam that should not degrade in normal use.

The last photo shows a nanoFlash for comparison purposes. The Gemini 4:4:4 is just 110% the volume of the nanoFlash.

Of course you may see this in person at NAB, and we will be recording and playing back, using the Gemini 4:4:4, in full uncompressed. Our Booth is C11126, near Sony in the Central Hall (near the rear).

This link will help you find our booth.

I'm smelling a "best in show" award in the immediate future . . .

Nice work C-D

Dear Dan,

[joking mode on]
I don't think content like this is allowed on a public site like DVInfo; this is just porn, making some people (myself including) salivate...

;-)
[joking mode off]

Seriously though - congratulations, again!

Piotr

PS. What would be the Gemini price for trading-in my nanoFlash, considering I'm a veteran (should I say - even a pioneer) CD customer? Yeah, I know I've been a PITA :)

Makes me wish our Canon XLH1 and XHG1 truly output 10bit instead the 2 "empty" bits in the HD-SDI stream.

Looks to be a ground breaking device.

And the built in monitor lightens the load and the cable wrangling.

I agree with Piotr: Looks simply sexy.
I wish I'd need a GEMINI 4.4.4. :-)

I'm very excited about this product. It's looking like 4:4:4 is going to be the new 4:2:2 after this NAB.

From a sales standpoint, I haven't seen a camera selling like the Sony F3 since the Panasonic HVX200 - and that's saying something considering the price point difference.

I would expect we'll sell a Gemini with the majority of F3's we deliver. It just makes sense if you're going to make the investment.

Dan,
Is your F3 RGB?

Let us not forget the F3 with an 8 bit recorder is way more than most of us need to deliver.

Looks super but I do hope the case interior comes in a more macho color!

In other words, do we have the Firmware Upgrade yet?

No, not yet. We have been attempting to obtain the Sony F3 Firmware Upgrade.

Dear Buck,

The Pink Foam is Pink in color to indicate that it is "Anti-Static" foam.

This is an industry standard color for most "Anti-Static" foam.

Anti-Static foam helps ensure that the Gemini 4:4:4 is not harmed by serious static electricity that can build up and discharge during shipping.

Oh my!

Its smaller than i thought.

Re: Gemini 4:4:4 Photos

Dear Timur,

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

We like small, powerful, and low power.

The monitor is still 5" diagonal.
