Dual Recording and Automatic SSD Verification

Dear Friends,

Our next firmware for the Gemini 4:4:4 will include a very advanced
Dual Recording and Automatic SSD Verification function.

When enabled, each clip will be recorded to two separate SSD’s simultaneously, creating two master copies of your footage.

In addition, this feature supports an automatic byte-by-byte verification of the two SSD’s to ensure that both master copies are identical.

While recording, we will create two masters, on two different SSD's.

Then, whenever the camera is turned off, or if the video cables are removed, the Gemini 4:4:4 will initiate a very thorough verification process to ensure that the files on the SSD's are identical.

1. The Directories on both SSD's will be compared, to ensure that they are identical.
2. The File Allocation Tables on both SSD's will be verified.
3. Each individal clip will be verified on a byte-by-byte basis.

This process is interruptable, thus if one needs to start recording again, the process will know which files have already been verified and will resume the process when appropriate.

In ARRIRAW, these important new featues will be available for all frame rates up to and including 30 fps. Above 30 fps, the Gemini 4:4:4 uses both SSD's for recording.

This feature provides a great deal of extra security for your production, as one backup copy will be created and verified within the Gemini 4:4:4 itself and one will have confidence that both SSD's are functional, and have exactly the same information.

Respectfully,
