Much of this is NanoFlash and HDX900
 
Hi all, thought I would share a recent Discovery Shark Week airing of a shoot from last Fall, called The Great White Highway.

All of the in-boat footage and one interview, were shot with the HDX900/Nano combo. If I remember right, we did a few things with this: we overcranked the footage, using the Nano, to slowmo it during big action moments. We recorded 100mbit 30p in MXF format for the bulk of the shoot. We also used the pre-roll function in order not to miss any sudden moments.

There were lots of sudden moments.

All the aerials and several other scenes were shot with a Red, I believe. I was not on those shoot days. All my stuff is me doing camera and sound with a Nano and two wireless mics velcroed to the camera, while hanging on to the side of a small skiff... with 14foot white sharks under the boat.

It is obvious on the show what is shot "high end" compared to "broadcast" but I think the HDX900/Nano holds up really well.

Thank you very much for posting this. The footage looks great. I liked the excitment of the shoot.

We are always happy to learn of how our nanoFlashes are being used.

The HDX900 + nanoFlash is a great combination and is widely used.

"You need a bigger boat!"
