XLH1 with Gemini 4:4:4

Has anyone used this device with the XLH1? I have considered driving about 100 miles to rent one just to see if it is functional and figured that I would try talking to the pros first. Anyone have any insight?

Just wondering why you want to deal with recording uncompressed 444 from a camera that outputs 4:2:2 ?
Aside from that, I don't see any reason why the Gemini would not work with the XLH1. Just seems like data overkill.

Re: XLH1 with Gemini 4:4:4

I'm just trying to purchase a tool to get the best possible footage from the sensor and if I can get a monitor with it, that would be an extra benefit. I have talked with Dan Keaton and been presented what appears to be a good alternative to the Gemini 4:4:4; the Odyssey 7, and 7Q. Lack of a monitor and the price of the newer technology is what has turned me away from the Nano flash. The Odyssey 7 or 7Q will allow me do do the same thing and give me a 7" monitor for less money.

Honestly, I don't do any work currently that would require an uncompressed output. I just figured if I'm going to make a purchase, I might as well get the best. Additionally, I believe (if I understand correctly) that the higher sampling rate will allow me to capture and store more color data.

Yes, I agree that the Odyssey should fill your needs.
My feeling about the Gemini (I own one and am happy with it - but I use it to record S-log 444 and 1080P60 from an F3) is that the additional data is well worth it for my uses, but to record standard 422 with it is overkill. (The size and weight are great for hand-held, though)
