Yes, After Effects CS3 can import .m2t files.

M2T is listed in the "Supported import formats" section of After Effects CS3 Help on the Web. Also, just to be sure, I just imported a .m2t file and it worked fine.

Wonderful. Thank u Todd! So I noticed AE cannot output m2t. So how do I work the output into an m2t project in Vegas 8? I read somewhere that YUV is a good choice as the compression is sort of lossless in a certain way.

I'm not sure about Vegas, but folks tend to recommend Animation codec.

I haven't ever used Vegas, so I'm going by what I know for After Effects exporting files to other NLEs. People have good luck rendering in After Effects and exporting with the Animation codec (quality set to highest) to a QuickTime container. At the highest quality setting, Animation is lossless.

I'm working between vegas 7 and AE 7 rendering uncompressed avi from vegas, applying effects in AE, export to png sequence and import that to vegas. Problem is I can't get the colour space to match so the png's in vegas look darker compared to the original after that process and I have to fiddle with colour correction to match them up. However AE doesn't seem to change the colour space when importing and exporting png's...

So is there a way to render a png sequence from vegas? There's a script for rendering an image sequence but it's not frame accurate, you have to set the interval and it doesn't seem to be possible to set the interval to get every frame. The smallest interval of .01 is too small and generates an error, the next largest interval is .02 but that skips frames. Frustrating!

Or is there a way to get the AE's colour space to match vegas for avi's? I haven't been able to figure it out, colour match rgb in the project settings is closer but not really a match, none of them are.

sounds a little tough to me! I just bought AE and am just trying it out. I think I will work to import avi from Vegas 8 and finish up in AE since I have Magic Bullet Looks to go along for CC. Antoher step back to Vegas would be quite killer.
