After Effects help
In Daniel Broadway's article "Simulating 35mm Motion Picture Color Saturation"
he lists as one of the steps to "Duplicate footage layer to create a second one, set top layer's transfer mode to softlight..." Can anyone give me the steps on how to accomplish this step. Just started using After Effects and I am not getting the results as the aritcle states. Thanks Joe |
You just have to select the layer you want to effect, press (command) "D” on your keyboard , or look for the duplicate command in your menu bar. A second layer will appear under the first layer. Select the layer that is above the layer that has just appeared – look for transfer mode in the menu bar (I can’t tell you under which command, because I have After Effects in German- its probably under menu "layers”), when you find it 12th down from the top – you get a list of different modi – choose "soft light” and see what happens.
Make sure that the two layers are overlapping. I hope that is what you were looking for. Good luck, DK |
Thanks Daniel for the quick response.
I will try it out wen I get home. Joe |
