I have to agree with Jos. Video and Audio quality along with longevity came next. No rewind fees is a big one too. I remember when the DVD first came to Shlockbuster. The store manager was still putting 'be kind rewind' reminder stickers on the case. sheeese.

And 480p/1080i is in every cosumer HD set sold so far. 1080i is here to stay, even in 720p only sets that massacre the format. 1080 24p is going to be the next 480p, for home theater only for quite awhile.
