YouTube Going 1080p Full HD (starting next week)
according to engadget.
http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/13/y...ies-next-week/ and their blog http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2...o-youtube.html Be prepared for the web to slow to a crawl with hi res dancing cat videos.... |
...yet the 48-hour film project remains an SD competition for all but some select cities. Go figure.
|
Just think how much funnier Chad Vader and Retardid Policeman will be in HD!

I agree that YouTube has nothing to do with the 48 decision. It's just ironic that we'd get 1080p on the internet before we get it at the world's most prolific film festival.
And you are right about theaters not having HD projectors. That's what I was told about the Portland show. But figure that the entry fee is $150 per 50 teams. That's $7,500. And they sell about 1,250 tickets at $8.00 each. That's another $10,000. That's got to cover something... But, as Yoda might say, "off topic we are." |
What does this mean for upload limits? I assume 1080p videos will basically have to be shorter.
|
Looks like I'm going to need a bigger screen...

Doesn't anybody else wish they would get at least 720p sharp and clear before they go bounding off to 1080p?

What is the best file type/codec to upload in? I've tried H264 mp4s and WMV but don't get the 1080p option in my videos? Just the standard HD 720?
