Announcing the Ninth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet
 
Announcing the Ninth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet to be held once
again at the Mission Bay Conference Center on Friday, February 5, 2010.
That’s right folks, the NINTH year and the NINTH time the SuperMeet is
coming to the Bay Area.

Ninth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet - Eventbrite

This event will be the single largest Bay Area social gathering of digital
filmmakers, content creators, FCS, Avid and Adobe Gurus and users in all of 2010. Heck,
SuperMeets are always the single largest gathering of digital filmmakers,
content creators FCS, Avid and Adobe Gurus and users. That’s why we call them
SuperMeets.

This years SuperMeet promises to be as huge and as fun as ever before. In
addition to a great show we will once again have a vendor area with over 30
of your favorite software and hardware developers showing off their products
and solutions. Plus the usual food and drink and laughs.

Also, for the first time ever we will include FREE Educational workshops as
part of the SuperMeet experience. Workshops during the day, and SuperMeet at
night. Great way to spend a Friday in San Francisco. More on the Workshops
soon.

What’s on the agenda? Well, it’s SuperSecret. but we can tell you this;
There will be user driven presentations, revolutionary new ideas and new
products for you to drool over. There will be show and tells from local Bay
Area filmmakers, tips and tricks and yes Virginia, the World famous Raffle
where we will give away once again, thousands of dollars worth of prizes to
dozens of lucky winners. More importantly the SuperMeet is your chance to
hang out and network with about 600 of your peers, many of whom know more
than you do.

Tickets are on sale now, and as usual we expect this event to sell out. SuperMeets always sell out.

Tickets are only $10.00 each and will remain so until January 5, 2010. After
that its $15.00 each. So buy your tickets early. There are only 500 tickets
available.

FREE SuperMeet Workshops Announced.
 
For the first time in history we are including FREE educational workshops as
part of the SuperMeet experience. That's Workshops during the day, and SuperMeet at
night. The workshops are sponsored by Adobe, Autodesk, Canon and Red Giant
and all are 2 hours each and all are absolutely free. You can sign up for
one workshop or for a maximum of three. There are only 40 seats available
for each workshop so if you are interested, then register NOW. Go here to

Agenda Update and Open Screen Theatre Announcement
 
What’s on the agenda?
Well, it’s somewhat SuperSecret, but we can tell you this; There will be USER driven presentations from AJA who will show off something supersecret, Canon, who will show off something supersecret and Autodesk who will show off the brand new must see and be wowed, Smoke on a Mac. FCS Guru Kevin Monahan will show off the new speed tools in FCP 7. Motion expert Mark Spencer will show us REAL honest to goodness 3D by showing us how to integrate Motion 4 and Cinema4D. There will be show and tells from local Bay Area filmmakers, and yes, the World Famous Raffle where we will give away thousands of dollars worth of prizes to dozens of lucky winners including a Canon EOS 5D Mark II HDSLR, AJA KiPro, NLE software, plug-ins and more. Agenda will be inked next week.

Open Screen Theatre
Not enough? We've also added an exciting component to the SuperMeet Digital Showcase. Local filmmakers can showcase their projects in what we are calling the "Open Screen Theater." Filmmakers and digital content creators wanting to get seen will have a a 10 minute chance to do so in an informal, collaborative setting. We want those who are shooting with HDSLRS, camcorders, iphones and anything that makes video to screen your content and interact. Filmmakers, just show up and sign up, get up and show off. It's first come, first serve in our "Open Screen Theater." Bring your content on a DVD.

Smoke on Mac is way cool and well worth attending if you are into high end finishing. And the Autodesk workshops are almost filled up too.

Canon to present new File-Based Codec (4:2:2) at the SuperMeet
 
Joe Bogacz of Canon will present the first US public introduction of Canon's new MPEG-2 Full HD (4:2:2) file-based recording codec and workflow to the industry and will also introduce the first US public preview of Canon's upcoming file-based professional video camera at the San Francisco SuperMeet.
